Peter L. Miller, MS, MBA, CPCU
President and Chief Executive Officer
Peter L. Miller is president and chief executive officer of The Institutes and a member of The Institutes’ Senior Management Team. He also chairs the CPCU Society Board of Directors and The Griffith Insurance Education Foundation Board of Directors, as well as serves ex-officio as a member of The Institutes’ Board of Trustees. Before joining The Institutes in 1992, Miller worked as a computer consultant and as a project coordinator for Intracorp, a subsidiary of CIGNA Corporation. Miller is a board member of the Insurance Institute of Switzerland, Gamma Iota Sigma and the Casualty Actuarial Society. He also chairs the Institute for Global Insurance Education and is a member of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America InVEST Board of Trustees. A graduate of Colorado State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a minor in economics, and a master’s degree in systems management, Miller also holds an MBA from Villanova University and has done extensive PhD-level work in computer information systems.
Robert J. Haracz, MS
Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer
As senior vice president and chief information officer of The Institutes, Robert J. Haracz is responsible for developing the enterprise’s technology strategy and leading staff to implement actions that support this strategy. He also serves as a member of The Institutes’ Senior Management Team. Haracz holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Drexel University, was a GAANN (Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need) Fellowship winner in attendance at the University of Pennsylvania, and earned a master’s degree in information science from Pennsylvania State University.
Ruben Carriedo
Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Officer
As senior vice president and chief customer officer of The Institutes, Ruben Carriedo is responsible for providing strategic oversight to the marketing and sales functions in support of The Institutes’ strategy and vision, as well as for advancing organizational effectiveness and promoting The Institutes in the risk management and insurance industry. He also serves as a member of The Institutes’ Senior Management Team. Carriedo holds a bachelor’s degree in science from the U.S. Naval Academy and served as a naval officer following graduation.
Jeffrey Scheidt, CPCU, CPA,
ARM-E
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Jeffrey Scheidt is senior vice president and chief financial officer of The Institutes. In this role, he is responsible for the financial activities of The Institutes, including financial reporting and management, forward planning, taxation, and treasury activities, as well as facilities management and business operations. In addition to the CPCU designation, Scheidt holds the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Associate in Risk Management-ERM (ARM-E) designations.
Elizabeth A. Sprinkel, MS, CPCU
Senior Vice President and Chief Solutions Officer
Elizabeth A. Sprinkel serves as senior vice president and chief solutions officer at The Institutes. In this role, she leads the solutions development and enterprise research functions and oversees the Assessments, Content Development, Design, Editorial Services, Enterprise Research, Knowledge Resources and Products departments. Sprinkel also heads The Institutes Insurance Research Council and is a member of The Institutes’ Senior Management Team. She is a member of the Board of Directors of The Institutes CPCU Society, The Griffith Insurance Education Foundation, and The Institutes RiskBlock Alliance. Sprinkel earned a master’s degree in managerial economics and decision sciences from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Kenyon College.
Katherine Horowitz
Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer
A member of The Institutes’ Senior Management Team, Katherine Horowitz serves as senior vice president of Human Resources at The Institutes. Responsible for providing strategic human resources leadership and management, Horowitz develops and drives organizational effectiveness and employee engagement, fostering a culture that enables The Institutes’ vision to be realized. Prior to joining The Institutes in 2008, she worked in Human Resources at Susquehanna International Group (SIG), a global investment and trading firm. A member of the Society for Human Resource Management, Horowitz holds a bachelor’s degree from Neumann University, where she graduated summa cum laude.
