The Griffith Foundation Names Kurt F. Bock Winner of the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award 

MALVERN, Pa. — Kurt F. Bock will receive The Institutes Griffith Insurance Education Foundation’s 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award during a ceremony at the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI) 2018 Annual Meeting, being held October 29 in Miami, Florida.  

Candidates for the 2018 Griffith Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award were selected by The Griffith Foundation Leadership Council, which includes insurance leaders, executives, and academics. This year’s winner was recognized for exemplary commitments to education and for his support of the missions of The Griffith Foundation and PCI.

A resident of Bloomington, Illinois with his wife Carol, Bock served in the United States Air Force for 28 years and attained the rank of colonel before joining IAA Credit Union as chief executive officer in 2003. He served as treasurer of COUNTRY Financial and IAA from 2005 to 2008, after which he became chief operating officer of Horizon Hobby. Since 2012, Bock has been the chief executive officer of COUNTRY Financial. 

He serves on the Illinois State University Foundation Board and is the chairman of the PCI Board of Governors; chairs the PCI Executive Committee, and is a member of the PCI Political Action Committee. He is a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst Society of Chicago. In November 2015, he was appointed to the Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance by the Director of the Federal Insurance Office for a three-year term advising the Director on policy matters impacting the U.S. insurance industry.
