After completing this course, you'll be able to recommend coverages that meet your clients' professional liability needs and help them manage loss exposures not covered under many standard policies.

Upon successful completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Describe the loss exposures insured by the following management liability coverages:
    • Directors and officers liability insurance
    • Employment practices liability insurance
    • Employee benefits liability insurance
    • Fiduciary liability insurance
  • Describe aircraft-related exposures and the coverages that can be included in an aircraft insurance policy.
  • Explain how an organization domiciled in the United States can insure foreign loss exposures that would not be covered under standard property and liability insurance policies.
  • Describe the characteristics of surety bonds, including how surety bonds contrast with insurance.
  • Describe the circumstances that create the need for surety bonds and the guarantees provided by the various types of contract bonds and commercial surety bonds.

  • Different types of auto physical damage coverages in the Personal Auto Policy
  • How an auto physical damage claim is handled, including identifying vehicle frames, structural components, repair terminology, common estimating errors, investigation of an auto theft claim, and the loss adjustment process for a total loss of an auto
  • Different types of contractors equipment and their uses
  • Causes of loss, exclusions, and coverage extensions commonly found in contractors equipment policies
  • Valuation of a total loss claim for a piece of contractors equipment and the valuation of a business income loss that may also result
