After completing this course, you'll be have the foundation you need to be able to recommend appropriate policies to meet your customers' personal property needs.

Upon successful completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Summarize the coverages provided by personal inland marine policies.
  • Compare the coverages typically provided for watercraft under each of the following:
    • HO-3
    • Personal Auto Policy
    • Small boat policies
    • Boatowners and yacht policies
  • Summarize the coverage provided by the typical personal umbrella policy.
  • Given a case describing a liability claim determine:
    • Whether the loss would be covered by a personal umbrella policy
    • The dollar amount, if any, payable under the umbrella policy
    • The dollar amount, if any, payable under the underlying insurance policies
    • The dollar amount, if any, payable by the insured.
