Message to All Examinees Regarding Rules of Conduct

For the protection of all Institutes’ designation holders and students, The Institutes have a Code of Academic and Professional Integrity that applies to all who take The Institutes’ exams. All examinees must abide by the Code as printed in the above-referenced exam registration booklets. The Code of Academic and Professional Integrity is also presented before an exam is administered, and examinees must agree to follow the Code in order to be permitted to take an exam. To ensure the integrity of our respected industry credentials, The Institutes reserve the right to expunge the grades of or restrict future exam-taking for anyone who fails to abide by the Code during and after exam administration. To ensure the integrity of Institutes’ assessments, The Institutes employ analytical tools to determine whether an irregularity occurred during a testing session.

CPCU candidates are bound by the CPCU Code of Professional Conduct.

Follow these two steps to register for your exam:

  1. You can register online (U.S. exam sites only--click the Register Now tab above), by phone at (800) 644-2101, or by fax at (610) 640-9576 and charge your registration to VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, or Diners Club. These fees are nonrefundable and cannot be transferred for use by another person. Fees must be paid in U.S. funds only.

  2. After you register with The Institutes, schedule an appointment to take your exam at an Institutes-approved on-site testing center or a Prometric Testing Center. If you registered online, by phone, or by fax, wait two business days before making your appointment at an Institutes-approved on-site testing center or a Prometric Testing Center. If you registered by mail, wait two weeks before contacting the testing operator to make an appointment. The sooner you make an appointment, the greater your chances of getting the date you prefer.

You may take the same exam no more than two times in a given testing window (maximum four times per calendar year). Exam retakes (other than Exams-on-Request) are subject to the full applicable registration fee.

Register Early to Avoid Higher Exam Fees

You may register at the discounted exam fee by submitting your registration on or before the first day of a testing window. If you register after that date, you must pay the higher standard fee. No registrations will be accepted after the 10th of the month in which the testing window closes.
