New! Ethics requirement. The Institutes believe ethical decision making skills are essential to the practice of insurance. Starting January 2011, all designation program participants must complete either Ethical Guidelines for Insurance Professionals (for all programs except CPCU) or the CPCU program’s Ethics and the CPCU Code of Professional Conduct. API 29—Personal Insurance: Portfolio Management and Issues: Personal Insurance Market, Developing Products, Underwriting Profitability, Pricing, Reunderwriting, Personal Lines Issues

Course Sequence: When pursuing this designation, it is best to take the courses in the following order: AINS 21, AINS 22, API 28, and API 29.

Passing CPCU 553 waives AINS 22 for the purpose of earning API.
