"One of the biggest challenges facing our industry today is finding job candidates who have a strong technical understanding of insurance. Those candidates who have taken advantage of the educational programs offered by the Institutes clearly set themselves apart from others. In addition, these programs allow our current employees to enhance their contributions to our organization and thus find or create opportunities to further their careers."
The Institutes’ Associate in Personal Insurance (API) designation program provides you with a thorough understanding of the personal lines business, including underwriting, marketing practices, the personal insurance environment, personal insurance profitability, the product development process, and portfolio management. By earning the API designation, you’ll gain the practical, real-world skills you need to increase your confidence in working with upper management, supervisors, peers, and clients.
Earn the Associate in Personal Insurance designation by passing the required course exams.
New! Ethics requirement. The Institutes believe ethical decision making skills are essential to the practice of insurance. Starting January 2011, all designation program participants must complete either Ethical Guidelines for Insurance Professionals (for all programs except CPCU) or the CPCU program’s Ethics and the CPCU Code of Professional Conduct. Both online modules are free. Learn more and register now.
